Day 13: The Palaki

Oh My God!

The day started quite well..I woke up at 7 AM.. Skipped rope..60 today 🙂 And then got into but for Hadapsar at 9:15 AM. The bus abruptly pulled over at Pulgate bus stand and would go no further. Turns out that the due to the Palaki that goes every year from Alandi to Pandharpur, all the roads from MG road towards Hadapsar have been blocked for the daily commuters. Only the pilgrims can travel there. The autowalas are demanding outrageous rates to go through some circuitous route which I didn’t quite understand. No Uber or Ola cabs were present in the area.

So I begin walking from Pulgate towards Hadapsar as the only option. Here are some of the few clicks:

I don’t know if this is THE Palaki or some Mini Palaki. Lol.

The endless line of people marching on. Some resting on the footpaths. Some carrying bags on their foreheads.

This is the worst imaginable thing. The usually pristine Race Course Road is littered with trash by these passing pilgrims. In my opinion, no one is allowed to trash public property in the name of religion. It’s just not right. But again, we live in a tolerant country.

Day 12: 8025 Steps

What a day!

I woke up at 7:30. Made my bed. Skipped rope, though only 30 times. Left for work at 8:45 AM.

Reached office at 10:30 AM. That’s awesome. I took the stairs all day. Not even once cheated by the elevator. Went home. Got out my Casio that’s been basically working as a stand for the WiFi router since 2014. Cleaned its keys with a lot of effort. It’s looking as good as new 🙂

I found the charger for my Xiaomi Mi band and started using it this morning. It recorded 8025 steps, or 4.9 km.

Day 11: Dizzy

I am walking like a drunk,  I am so dizzy coz of the meds. I woke up early today, reached office on time, accomplished quite a lot of tasks before lunch, but I am suddenly deflated now.

I am in the dormitory, sleeping / hiding. Whenever I will feel like I could work again, I will go back to my floor. Walking like a drunk.  Again.

Be Strong

Be Strong

Day 10: Qatl-E-Aam

WordPress tells me this is my very first blog post. Actually it isn’t. I have written blogs before and deleted them.  I am listening to the song Qatl-E-Aam from the movie Raman Raghav 2.0 on my cellphone. I am on the way from Magarpatta to Kothrud in a PMPML bus. Fortunately I got a seat.

This is my 10th day of sobriety. This isn’t my first attempt to quit alcohol. But something is different this time. I voluntarily went to a psychiatrist before starting.

I take 3 pills in the morning, 5 pills before sleeping at night. Antidepressants, mood stabilizers, whatever. They are just awfully bitter.

The song is too damn good. It’s time to sit back and enjoy the beats.
